The Frenchman will pilot an Alpine A110S course car through the tough Saint-Disdier – Corps (20.58km) and Saint-Maurice – Saint-Bonnet (20.78km) tests ahead of the main field competing in the opening round of the FIA World Rally Championship.

The 24-year-old had a private shakedown on separate roads near the rally’s host town of Gap to get to grips with the A110S on the unpredictable conditions found in the French Alps.
He will have his race number, #31, emblazoned on the A110S, which will carry its traditional and iconic blue livery.

Alpine has a five strong entry in the RGT class during the four-day rally with Cédric Robert, Emmanuel Guigou, Philippe Baffoun, Pierre Ragues and Raphaël Astier all competing.
Ocon, who trains with WRC regular Pierre-Louis Loubet during the off-season, told WRC TV that the excitement made it hard for him to sleep last night.
“I’ve prepared by looking at some onboards. I had a few tips from Pierre-Louis. He gave us a bit of notes where are the tricky parts, the ice, the snow and all that. I can’t have better teachers but obviously I’m behind the wheel with very little preparation and no experience.

“I have a great co-driver with me as well so it’s going to be all fun and I’m just looking to enjoy myself,” he added.
